Glenn Hauser logs July 29-30, 2016

** ALBANIA. 9854-, July 29 at 0138, R. Tirana is just humroar at S7. Also noted in the DXLD yg by Stephen C Wood, Harwich, Mass. on his Perseus SDR and 25 x 50 terminated superloop antenna: ``9855 - R. Tiranë, Shijak, 0130 July 29, 2016 - Completely distorted audio. Nothing intelligible to be heard except the loud buzzing noise at S9 + levels``.

9855-, July 30 at 0124, R. Tirana is VP, only S2 vs S6 noise level on the ALA-330, but poor, S6 vs S7 on the N/S internal wire. I can make out the IS but there is still hum beneath it, and usual hard to copy once talk start at 0130 (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** AUSTRALIA. 12085, July 29 at 1334, R. Australia is OFF this frequency, but still on S4 12065 and S9+20 9580 during music. I didn`t think to check the `day` frequencies, but Ron Howard reported earlier:

``RA anomaly on July 29. *Not* broadcasting on 12085, but instead was on 15240; noted 0926 and subsequent checking; // to the normal 9580 (good) and 12065 (fair); all audio good; after 1000 Tok Pisin/Pidgin``

Wolfgang Büschel replied, ``Maybe could be to use TX-A at Shepparton on single 15240 kHz antenna connection? instead of TX-D, in order to replace for repair work on the faulty audio 9580 / 17840 kHz unit`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL. 6180, July 30 at 0204, RNA is OFF, so is it instead blobbing away around 6205 like last time? No, not found anywhere between 5800 and 6300 kHz; // 11780 seems to be nominal, no spurs either (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 2749-USB, July 30 at 0243 UT, YL robot in English, really unreadable at maybe S8 vs storm noise level of S9+20, no doubt Canadian Coast Guard marine weather, as scheduled: ``MCTS Halifax / VCS - Broadcasts, 0240, Sambro site, 2749-J3E, Radiotelephony --- Technical marine synopsis, forecasts and wave height forecasts for marine areas: 201 to 214. Notices to Shipping in South Coast Nova Scotia area. Notices to Shipping revising the position of every reported offshore exploration and exploitation vessel`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9315.046, July 29 at 0048, R. Cairo mainly hum but some talk, presumably Spanish, but no spurs, just when I wanted to hear one blasting Blalock on 9330. This fundamental not usually that far off-frequency.

9330.4 approx., July 30 at 0237, weak spur with same sound as on much stronger fundamental 9315 instead of English modulation from R. Cairo; then I find there is a blob of same between 9319 and 9327. These come and go (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 9420, July 29 at 0052, VOG S9+10 playing Dylan`s original ``Blowin` in the Wind``, not exactly expected from Athens, but a nice touch. 0055 on to a bit of a Greek tune, before 0056 IS & ID in Greek, more music. Also on // 9935 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1836 monitoring: confirmed Friday July 29 at 2130.5 on WRMI 13695, good. I missed checking the next airing, but Wolfgang Büschel got it: ``Quick log in 2330 to 0115 UT July 29 / 30, 9329.921, WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW, S=7 in Germany Europe, 2336 UT GH WoRadio program, "DRM mode local transmitter Berlin item ..."``. ** U S A. 7489.97, UT Saturday July 30 at 0133, only catch the end of Allan Weiner Worldwide on WBCQ as I am mainly listening to The First Night of the Proms from BBC Radio 3, via Symphonycast, via 90.1 KUCO in $tereo. He`s reading mail and someone is hearing him on all three frequencies. Here, 5129.9 is far too noisy, and I can barely hear 3250.3 approx., so getting closer to the nominal than last week. 0135 benedixion, and after further comments, 0140 WBCQ jingles and over to Brother Scare (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7504.89, July 30 at 0153, WRNO is on tonight with country gospel music, and during the less than a minute I listen, frequency is stable; however, Wolfgang Büschel reported earlier in the hour: ``7504.923, WRNO,  E x t r e m e  UNSTABLE frequency, hopping/moving continuously some 100 to 120 Hertz around up and down, 7505.064 kHz at 0109 UT on July 30, S=9+30dB -33dBm!!`` (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTNING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, July 29 at 0538 check, WTWW-2 is still off again.
9930, July 29 at 1810 check, WTWW-2- is still off here too, and so is 12105, WTWW-3, leaving only 9475, WTWW-1 with PPPP (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 820, 830, 840, 850, 870, 1200, July 29 until 0327 UT, I check part of the MW band just as Hillary is finishing her acceptance speech, and surprised to find in the 800s at least, she`s live on multiple stations, even WBAP! WCCO, WHAS, KOA, WWL; and WOAI, among certainly others (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1330+ & 1350-, July 30 at 0244 UT, can`t hear any matching spurblobs from some 1340 station, and haven`t been checking for them nightly, but Randy Stewart in Springfield MO reminds me the suspect 1340 there is now KICK, ex-KADI, and could be the source (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13560.33-CW, approx., July 30 at 0145, pipper very poor signal but running at the rate of 44 per minute. Last time it was 80/minute on a slightly different frequency. Whenever I do hear it, the rate is quite steady. So are these all the same transmitter, or different ones, and what`s the significance? (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
