** FRANCE. 13725, May 24 at 0609, the ONLY English hour from RFI is again
audible as we are getting into deep summer propagation conditions, should we be
awake in the middle of the night. It`s S9+10 during ID and ``Paris Live AM``,
0610 into silly sports segment wasting valuable airtime. Between them I hear a
sounder which reminds me of one I heard the night before on the anomalous 9585
frequency in French before 0600, but could have been VOA; see UNIDENTIFIED

** OKLAHOMA. 88.3, May 23 at 2350
UT, I notice that Enid Family Radio satellator K202BY is unbalanced, both music
and talk audio skewed mostly to the left stereo channel. This is obvious because
unusually I am tuning the DX-398 with stereo headphones on, tnx to a sporadic E
MUF of 104 MHz reported across the USA, but a bandscan here fails to find any DX
even at the low end. The K202BY signal continues to be rather weak and unsolid
for a ``local``. BTW, the WTFDA FM DB still shows it relaying ``KEAR``, no such
FM station, rather than KEBR 88.1 Sacramento as announced in IDs (Glenn Hauser,

** U K [non]. 13580, May 24 at 0613, BBCWS in
English is VG, S9+20, even stronger than RFI English on 13725 from France. This
BBC is 250 kW, 315 degrees USward from MADAGASCAR, daily at 06-08. It exits
Africa over Casablanca, and crosses America from Chicago thru northern Kansas,
only about 3 degrees off the true direxion of Enid, 312. Unfortunately, BBC
cannot stop the signal from carrying on to this SW target it has abandoned, but
at least it`s in the middle of the night when audience will be as small as

9955, May 24 at 0605, WRMI is still in World Music instead of TOM after 0600 as
well as after 0500. I`m never awake late enough to detect when it finally switch
to TOM, 0700? The WRMI program grid continues to show daily 05-10 UT as
Overcomer Ministry on 9955. Among other extended times of World Music, I can
only assume there was a slight reduxion in the amount of dough BS has shoveled
at WRMI, reducing his total hours, but they are being kept open for BS to resume
at a moment`s notice without affecting other programming (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX

UNIDENTIFIED. 9585, May 24 at 0554, I`m checking 24+
hours after hearing a station in French on this unlisted frequency, and there is
nothing on it, bolstering my suspicion that it was a mis-punch. Bill Bingham in
RSA and Thorsten Hallmann in Germany agree 9585 is unoccupied May 24.
While I couldn`t stay awake any longer last night, this time I scan the
31m band for some similar news programming, and the only thing I find is 9885,
which is VOA São Tomé, altho not as strong as last night`s 9585, this only poor
at S9. A mispunch of 9585 for 9885 on a keyboard would be quite possible. Paul
S. in Connecticut independently makes the same suggestion. (The M-F 0530-0630
VOA French broadcast switches from ST to Greenville for the second half from
0600, why?) However, higher bands are open tonight, including RFI English after
0600 on 13725, where I hear a liner similar to what was on 9585 before (Glenn
