Us Okies know that KTUZ is already the call of a Spanish FM station in OKC, 106.7, plus TV on RF 29 which carries both archrivals Telemundo and Univisión. Could there be some connexion? Yes!

Tyler is pronounced as in English, Media as in Spanish.
So now yet another Tulsa AM station becomes a mere satellite of an OKC station (after 1570 relaying 890, also Tylers). As for format, IRCA says ``1270 KTUZ Claremore, OK was Regional Mexican, now new unknown format``. It still sounds ``regional Mexican`` to me, if that means norteña music where most of the immigrants around here come from, besides Guatemala.

And // much weaker 9570. Nothing on 9665, where I heard this service by mistake recently. 9605 is 110 degrees from Noblejas per Aoki, while 9570 is 168, both at the odd rated power of 350 kW.
BTW, Noblejas is the *only* site in the entire Aoki list with such a power level (and not applying to all their transmitters, either.) What about HFCC? The *only* listing anywhere with 350 kW power is China via Spain 9690 at 0200-0400, while the three other 9 MHz channels above are listed as only 250. WRTH says Noblejas now counts upon 6 x 250 kW transmitters. Period. 9690 certainly puts out bigsigs to N America, but anyone`s guess whether they are somehow punched up to 350 kW (or less than 2 x 250?).

By occupying the 20-21 UT slot, P.J. gets the least coverage of any show on 7490, full daytime even in winter, and will only worsen as the year progresses, jumping a full hour even earlier once DST kicks in.
