Glenn Hauser logs April 14-15, 2013

** AUSTRALIA. 12080, April 15 at 0513, fair signal from RA with `Pacific Beat`. This is the 10 kW Brandon, Qsld transmitter aimed 80 degrees at 20-12 UT, the final hour in DRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BANGLADESH. 15505, April 15 at *1358, BB carrier on and clear, no hum, no mod, no IS, poor strength; 1359:46 cut on last pip of timesignal plus hum, announcement and theme opening Urdu (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 11744, 11736, 11728, 11712, 11704, 11696, April 15 at 1255, detectable spur carriers at 8-kHz intervals from 11720 CNR1 jammer against RTI.

11712 has QRM from 11710 DPRK noise jamming bleeding onto the VOK broadcast open carrier prior to 1300 English to North America.

Since it`s about time for a change, I sit on 11712 and note it does cut off a few sex past 1300*. Then I wait for 11752 to cut on, which happens about *1300:45 along with 11776, etc. Now the fundamental is 11760 under Cuba, jamming Sound of Hope, plus/minus 8-kHz intervals.

Being 40 kHz apart, a multiple of 8, it so happens that 11720 and 11760 both produce spurs on same frequencies, such as 11752, 11736. Last year when originating on 11710 instead of 11720, they did not, e.g. the 11734 side of 11735 before 1300, and then the 11736 side after 1300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. Firedrake April 15, after 1300:
13795, poor at 1302
15560, poor at 1304, het on hi side

Firedrake April 15, before 1400:
11500, very good at 1353; none in the 10s, 9s
13795, very poor at 1350, mixing with algo; none in the 12s
13920, very good at 1349
13970, very good at 1349
14700, good at 1349
15610, JBA at 1346 under WEWN, het on lo side
15970, good at 1346
16360, JBA at 1346
16920, good at 1346; none in the 17s
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15340, April 15 at 1308 and still at 1326: RHC`s missing frequency today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 800, April 15 at 1243 in KQCV OKC null making 40/min SAH = two-thirds Hz, good signal with alabanza music in Spanish. Has to be XEROK Juárez, tho not the format I expected, perhaps just part of their variety (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 640, April 15 at 1250 UT, almost an hour after sunrise, no groundwave signal from KWPN Moore, off the air! Just a weak SAH remains, maybe involving KFI and Juárez remnants. Left a receiver on here, and finally cut on at *1307, JIP sportstalk as ESPN affiliate (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1664 monitoring: confirmed on WTWW-2, 9930, Sunday April 14 starting at 2327.5, which would get its 29 minutes on intact before 2358* on this frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
