There were 65,000 'Kangas' or members of the 5AD Kangaroo Club after just 14 years and they enjoyed music and much more from their Uncles and Aunts of the 5AD Advertiser Broadcasting Network during the mid-1940s according to the latest in the popular series of Long Lost Australian Radio Stars hosted by the Radio Heritage Foundation at
www.radioheritage.net.

Uncle Richard [Dick Moore], Uncle Charles [Charles Norton] and Aunty Peggy [Roberta Russell] are the featured personalities in this nostalgic look back at a time when thousands of young Australians were active in this very popular radio club heard over 5AD Adelaide and relay stations 5PI, 5MU and 5SE.

Sporting reporters Ted Madigan, Steve McKee and Geof. Roberts also get a mention in the latest feature which brings to almost fifty the number of such features currently included in the Long Lost Australian Radio Stars series at
www.radioheritage.net where an increasing amount of Australian radio heritage can now be found.

If you have your own memories, memorabilia and more you'd like to share about 5AD Adelaide & the Kangaroo Club or any of the other stations featured in the series, the Radio Heritage Foundation wants to hear from you.

It may be some old photos, booklets, newspaper or magazine articles or even some recordings. Memories of listening to 5AD over the years are also important and wanted because they help people understand the important community role played by 5AD over several generations.

The Radio Heritage Foundation is a registered non-profit organization connecting popular culture nostalgia and radio heritage across the Pacific. The global website is
www.radioheritage.com. Run by volunteers. 365 annual supporters are invited to each help fund operational costs with US$50 covering one days costs.
